Khokhar Sab

Khokhar Sab builds and runs The Craft Mat from Kashmir. The site turns the sums crafters usually do by hand, on paper or a phone in a fabric store, into calculators that show every step. Khokhar Sab doesn't quilt, knit or crochet, so each formula comes from published craft standards and is tested against worked examples before it goes live.

How the tools are made

Every calculator starts with the written method: the standard it follows, the assumptions it makes and a few examples worked by hand. The code is then tested against those examples, including awkward cases like very small projects or metric measurements. When an answer can only ever be an estimate, such as yarn use that depends on your tension, the page says so and suggests a safety margin.

Feedback from makers

Crafters know their materials better than any formula. If a result looks wrong for the way you work, send a note with the numbers you used.
